Salisbury University junior second baseman Carly Read, Catonsville, Md, has been named the Capital Athletic Conference”s (CAC) Softball Player of the week.

Carly Read hit her first home run of the year, a go-ahead two-run blast to help the Sea Gulls pick up the CAC championship title.

“Read helped the Sea Gulls claim their 17th CAC championship title, 9-1, after Frostburg State University took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Catonsville, Md., native hit her first home run of the year, a go-ahead two-run blast, against the Bobcats giving Salisbury the lead 2-1. The junior went 2-for-2 at the plate, with a double, a walk, and three RBIs.”
