11 inngs: 0.64 ERA, 20 Ks
Lauren Pupa back in circle,
shutting down opponents

A pulled muscle put Harford Xtreme Showcase softball player Lauren Pupa on the sidelines for a two week recovery period in this her freshman year on the varsity Fallston High School Cougars.

Tough break for Lauren. Good news for rival teams on the schedule who missed facing this hard throwing softball pitcher.

Now she's back and for her return she has notched for herself seven magnificent days of pitching. She's thrown in three games so far with a 0.64 ERA, while striking out 20 over 11 innings of work.

First outing was a week ago, Tuesday, against Havre De Grace High School. Lauren pitched a complete game five hitter, striking out eight, and giving up only one earned run in a tough luck 2-0 losing effort.

Two days later, Joppatowne High went up against her. Lauren started and pitched for the first nine outs, allowing one hit only, and striking out the side in every inning!

Three days after that, Lauren made a relief appearance against Edgewood High. In a nail bitter, Lauren entered the circle in the sixth inning with the Cougars ahead 1-0. She shut down the batting order, not giving up a hit and recording three strikeouts. Her Fallston Cougars won 3-0.
