WVIAC Player of the Year

West Virginia State University shortstop Brittany Hyatt, Hagerstown, Md, has been named the 2012 “Player of the YEAR” by WVIAC league coaches.


#5 Brittany Hyatt, 10 home runs, 56 RBI, 62 runs scored, 79 hits, 29 doubles, 75 putouts, 86 assists, helped turn six double plays.

“Hyatt becomes a two-time WVIAC Player of the Year honoree as she also picked up the honor in 2010. Hyatt is the only Yellow Jacket to have won the award. She recorded a stellar .473 batting average on the season. Hyatt belted 10 of the team’s 21 round-trippers on the season while driving in 56 runs. She also crossed home a team-high 62 times. Hyatt pounded out 79 hits, 29 of which were doubles. She also stole six bases without getting caught. In the field, Hyatt had 75 putouts, 86 assists and helped turn six double plays.”
