Olney, Md, players named This blog missed it last week, but the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) named two hometown Maryland college players from Catholic University of America the Division II- South “hitter of the Week” and “Pitcher of the Week”. The honor was announced Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Junior, Third Baseman, Olney, Md.
Stockinger led Catholic University to a 4-0 record last week after going 8-for-13 at the plate with 11 RBI and six runs scored. She highlighted her week with a 3-for-4 performance in a victory over Randolph-Macon College in which she hit a home run and batted in three runs. Stockinger also went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored in a win over Juniata College.

Sophomore, Pitcher, Olney, Md.
McMakin had a stellar week for Catholic as she posted a 3-0 record with a 1.31 ERA and 16 strikeouts as well as picking up her second career no-hitter. The no-hitter came in a 4-1 victory over Randolph-Macon College in which she fanned eight and walked one over the seven inning outing. McMakin is 8-1 on the season with a 2.01 ERA over 59.1 innings pitched.
