Scores early in season opener
Salisbury wins with hitting & pitching Junior catcher Michelle Gravdahl, Ellicott City, Md, started the season off right by slamming a three-run homer in the second inning this afternoon for the #8 ranked Salisbury State University (Md) Sea Gulls. The scoring mounted for a final 8-1 win against Piedmont College Lady Lions. Michelle also fired from the plate to first to pick off a runner.

Sophomore pitcher Kathryn Larson, Frederick, Md, worked relief in the seventh as she promptly retired every batter she faced.

The Sea Gulls have three games tomorrow. First, the continuation of a rain-out against the Roanoke College Maroons followed by contests against the Greensboro College Pride and the North Carolina Wesleyan College Battling Bishops.
