SHIPPENSBURG RAIDERS 

“Shippensburg 2, West Chester 1... Freshman Maddie Justice (Bishopville, Md) provided the first of her two hits in the opening game by lacing a double into the left-center field gap to start the second inning. 

"Justice eventually scored via station-to-station softball, advancing one base on consecutive groundouts by sophomore Rachel Shumway and freshman Jessie Trammell (Ijamsville, Md).

“Sophomore left fielder Hilary Lyons (Cumberland, Md) continued to make the most of her placement into the leadoff spot, going 4-for-6 in Tuesday’s doubleheader while scoring one of the four Raider runs.”  

Freshman Tyler Thompson (Arnold, Md) scored the second game’s winning run.

GEORGETOWN HOYAS  

“The Georgetown University softball team (15-20, 0-3 BIG EAST) downed the UMBC Retrievers (17-16) in Baltimore, Md. by a score of 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Pitcher "Megan Hyson (Pasadena, Md) led the defensive effort for the Hoyas with 13 strikeouts in 23 at bats. The freshman pitched seven innings without walking a batter.”
