"Senior outfielder Cailin Cavanaugh (Newark H.S./Newark, Del.) had four hits with two runs and two runs batted in as Goldey-Beacom College (15-12, 5-3) earned a sweep of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader over Nyack College (3-25, 2-12) at the Lightning's Jackson Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

“The Lightning took a 3-0 lead in the first game by scoring three runs in the second inning. After sophomore Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./ Leonardtown, Md.) gave Goldey-Beacom a 2-0 advantage with a double to left center, senior Jordan Waterloo (Thomas Stone H.S./ Waldorf, Md.) upped the lead to 3-0 when she singled through the left side to score Peters.
 


Shannon O'Hara

 “In the fourth inning, senior Shannon O'Hara (LaPlata H.S./ LaPlata, Md.) extended the Lightning edge to 4-0 when she hit a single up the middle” for an RBI.

 “In the nightcap... Freshman Katrina Swank (Caravel Academy/ Bear, Del.) added an RBI single up the middle to score Ashley Antosh for an 8-1 lead.”

Cailin Cavanaugh (Newark, Del.) hit the 8th triple of her college career & led 21-hit attack with four hits on Tuesday.

 WESLEY COLLEGE WOLVERINES 

 "Wesley College's softball team got back to .500 on the season with a doubleheader sweep over Rosemont College on Monday afternoon. The Wolverines (13-13) took the opener, 6-3, before run-ruling the Ravens, 10-2, in game two.

"Taylor Hendricks (Havre de Grace, Md.) and Meghan McGonigle (Wilmington, De.) earned complete game victories for the Navy & White as both gave up just one earned run in their appearances. McGonigle matched her season-high with five strikeouts and allowed just three hits while Hendricks allowed seven hits and struck out one.
