Lady Vols win a thriller

Trailing 5-3 today, the #8 Tennessee Lady Vols suddenly turned it around against the 2011 Europen Champion Dutch National Team with four runs in the sixth that temporarily took the lead.

It was junior second baseman Lauren Gibson, Pasadena, Md, who, batting with the game tied, blasted a two RBI home run – her seventh of the year – in the big rally inning that fixed the score for the time being at 7-5. At the top of the seventh, the Dutch would tie it again, but Lady Vols answered quickly in the bottom of the inning to win the game 8-7.
