SETON HALL: The Seton Hall Pirates won a wild 10-8 affair to secure a double-header sweep of Saint Peter's on Wednesday, after taking game one by a 5-1 margin.

In the third, sophomore third base Meredith Henze, Elkton, Md, found a gap and PULLED A DOUBLE into left-centerfield. The next batter drove Henze in with an RBI base hit to put the Pirates in command of the game.

Nicole Loewenstein

But St. Peter’s came right back in the fourth with a grand slam, before senior catcher Nicole Loewenstein, Joppa, Md, knotted things at 7-7 with as she also SMASHED A DOUBLE, and then was batted home, marking the fifth time the lead changed hands.

Kourtney Salvarola

USF: The University of South Florida Bulls rolled to a 7-1 win over Hartford, marking their 26th win in 31 tries, tying a school record for the Bulls' best non-conference start.

Offensively, the Bulls got off to a quick start, scoring two in the first on sophomore shortstop Kourtney Salvarola's, Arnold, Md, SHARP RBI DOUBLE off the fence in right. That ultimately proved all the scoring needed. Kourtney was 2-for-2 on the day with 2 RBI and a run scored.

RIDER: The Rider University Broncs downed Saint Joseph's University yesterday by the score of 4-2.

The Broncs led off the second game BLASTING A DOUBLE that plated a run on a RBI sacrifice fly from junior catcher Sam Pugh, Elkton, Md.

Allysen Breeden

The Hawks cut the Broncs lead in the bottom of the fifth inning by pelting an RBI double, but the Broncs freshman third base Allysen Breeden, Hagerstown, Md, effectively ended it in the top of the seventh. She SOCKED A RBI DOUBLE, with the final run of the game. Allysen has reached base safely in six straight games.

DSU: There are only two D1 universities in the state of Delaware and they battled yesterday in two exciting, hard fought contests.

With two outs in the top of the seventh and a 0-0 game, the Delaware State University Hornets came through in the clutch and scored three runs on five hits to lead the Hornets to a 3-0 victory over the University of Delaware yesterday.

A second game was played to a 5-5 tie through six innings before the contest was halted due to darkness.
