TENNEESSEE LADY VOL: “On Saturday afternoon in front of 813 fans at the MSU Softball Stadium, the #11 Tennessee Lady Vol softball team (22-7, 6-4 Southeastern Conference) registered the most hits (13) and tied for the most runs (10) allowed this season by the Mississippi State Bulldogs (18-14, 3-9 SEC) in securing a series victory via a 10-3 triumph.

DREXEL DRAGONS: “The Drexel softball team was stymied in its effort to get a win in its first conference game of the season, as the Dragons opened up a three-game series with a 4-0 loss to James Madison at the Drexel Softball Field...

RIDER BRONCS: “The Rider University softball team was swept on the second day of the Penn Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania this weekend... 

"Freshman Allysen Breeden (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) hit an RBI ground out, scoring McCool who had singled with one out in the sixth inning for the final score. 


 

HAMPTON PIRATES: The Hampton University softball team split its doubleheader against Morgan State on Saturdayat the Lady Pirates Softball Complex, taking the first game 8-6 before losing the second game 6-2 in eight innings ... (a) Morgan State run in the fourth cut the lead to 7-2, but the Lady Pirates answered with a run in the bottom of the frame, going up 8-2 after senior Sharde' Estep (Aquasco, Md.) singled to left-center field to bring home junior Nina Ferguson (Plymouth, Minn.). TOWSON TIGERS earned “... their first Colonial Athletic Association win of the season Saturday, a 1-0 victory over Delaware (4-24-1, 0-1 CAA)... Towson scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning... on a single from freshman shortstop Hailey Balk. Senior second baseman Haley Stueckler (Huntington, Md) led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on the throw from the outfield.
